The first step in any marketing strategy is your branding. Your corporate identity, logo, colour scheme or brands are your direct and indirect communication mechanisms of your organisations professionalism and allow your customers and prospects to trust you. If you get this wrong, the error will be filtered down into the rest of your marketing efforts and will result in a lack of consistency and direction.

When it comes to using your brand, your printed sales brochures should be designed to be consistent with your brand identity and should be produced in a way that they do not date. More time specific information such as pricing, seasonal offers, etc should be produced in more cost effective formats such as flyers, posters etc and should also be reproduced on your web site.

If customers visit you at your place of business, you should consider enhancing your premises with well designed signage, posters and possibly the newer plasma screens which can be used to display a portfolio of work done or provide a clever way to explain your services.

For those businesses with services that need detailed explanations an animated sales presentation incorporating illustrations and animation may be useful and these can be used in a number of ways such as PowerPoint presentations, CD ROMs, plasma screen or on your web site.

Your web site should be the most important part of your marketing mix and it most definitely should be updatable to allow you to alternate between different content formats, service descriptions, case studies, typical client’s needs and how you solve them, frequently asked questions and answers, links to resources, etc. Some business with a more technical element to them can get great results from a document management system for uploading white papers and other materials. These can be placed within a member’s only area that can be accessible only to users who have logged in with a username and password. This could also be used for staff that may need pricelists, manuals, etc.

If you’ve had a slow response from an existing site, you’ll be pleasantly surprised that a professionally designed site which is well aligned to your brand, has clear well presented content, illustrations and animations of your service offerings, and is well marketed will become your main source of well qualified enquiries.

Our content management system allows you to take complete control of your web site so that you can add new pages, content, images, links etc when ever you need to. The system also comes with an enquiry management system that allows you to capture enquiries into a back end database and match staff email addresses to specific business areas thus ensuring that the enquiry gets emailed to the right member of staff whilst still retaining a record for follow up and statistical analysis.

Finally, a budget should be allocated to the ongoing web marketing of the site. New developments in paid advertising can allow site owners to target specific customers within specific geographical regions who are actively searching for your service. The value of this type of marketing is that the advert is only paid for when the user actually visits your site. This is called pay per click marketing and if done well will generate a large increase in enquiries.

Talk to us about any of the ideas presented above. We can provide all of the design and technical services you will need to turn your marketing ideas into a reality and help you to win more business in a consistent and creative way.
